An English-speaking church in Herten, on the edge of Recklinghausen — with Deutsch, Nederlands, Español and Français in the same room. Everyone is welcome.
Testimony Arena is an open, multicultural church at Sophienstraße 3 in Herten, right on the edge of Recklinghausen. We gather twice a week — Tuesday and Wednesday, both at 19:00 — in English, with Deutsch, Nederlands, Español and Français alive in the same room.
No membership form, no dress code, no test at the door. Whether you are new to Germany, new to church, or simply new to this city — there is a chair here with your name on it, and someone who will sit in the next one.

A midweek evening around one piece of Scripture. We read it, we ask the awkward questions, and we work out what it actually means for a Tuesday in Herten. Bring a Bible or borrow one of ours — nobody is asked to read out loud.

Worship, prayer and room for God to move.
Roughly ninety minutes of singing, prayer and testimony — the part of the week where people bring what is heavy and leave lighter. Loud in places, very quiet in others. You can join in or you can sit at the back and watch; both are completely fine.

No — and we are glad you asked out loud, because plenty of people ask it quietly. We are a registered non-profit in Germany, with a public address, a phone number that a real person answers, and doors that open outwards.
Nobody takes your passport, your money or your weekends. You can come twice, ask the hardest question you have, and walk away — and you will still be welcome the week after. That is the whole deal.
Every one of these people walked in for the first time once.

On the Herten side of the border with Recklinghausen — ten to twenty minutes from Gelsenkirchen, Marl, Gladbeck and Castrop-Rauxel.
Park on the street around the building. The entrance is the one with the light on. If you cannot find us, call — someone will come out to the kerb and walk you in.
Tuesday & Wednesday from 18:30, gathering at 19:00 CET. Come late if you must — the back row is always free.
PLAN YOUR FIRST VISITYou never have to announce yourself — you can simply walk in on a Tuesday. But if you send this, someone will be at the door with your name, and the first evening is a great deal easier.
